      Relic Guitars by Jay Munn

"This fretboard treatment belongs to Jay Munn of  Jay Munn Custom and Relic Guitars.  Jay is the wild man
who ran a full page ad in the June, 2007, Vintage Guitar Magazine, before he even had a wesite.  He has
         one now."

"The site photos reflect an attention to detail similar to British relic master, John Elliot....
If you're a relic geek, you need to know about Jay Munn."

"The attention to detail on this thing (Fender Strat body) is downright scarey..... incredible!
                                                                                                                                                            David H.

GUITAR BODIES
Bodies are relic-ed to show the exact amount to wear and abuse that you would like to capture - from minor nicks and scratches...to Rory Gallagher!  All relic-ing will be performed to a painstaking level of accuracy, and will reflect the wear and abuse your guitar body would have seen if you had played it for the last 40 years; forearm and body wear on the front and back of the guitar body, pick marks from years of "powerstroking", strap wear around strap buttons, belt buckle marks..it's all here.
Highly detailed guitar body relic-ing can be done for $80.

Eric Clapton Signature Model "Blackie" Relic
Custom reliced for Roger E. of Miami, Florida
"Just wanted to tell you I am enjoying Blackie... it is hard to put down.  There is this great feel to the guitar now    that was not there before, and it's like it becomes molded to your fingers... like the player and the instrument
become one.  I can also hear the difference in the way the tone of the guitar was freed up by the wear...to say
that I am pleased with the result is an understatement...what an awesome job you have done."

  Roger E.
  Miami, Florida

"I shipped off my 2005 Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Signature model to Jay Munn Guitars with the hope
that it could be made to look something like Clapton's original battle weary "Blackie" ... the results were
astounding!  It really looked like it came through a time machine from 1955!"

"Aside from the visual coolness and feel of the guitar, it really seems to have a personality now that it didn't
have before the relic process.  Call it what you wish...vibe....mojo....vintage....it is very, very cool.  Playing the
guitar is like wearing your favorite old pair of blue jeans.  It feels like you've owned and played it for
   decades!!!"

"WOW. I really don't have the words. What an amazing job. I can't believe the difference. It's a brand new (old) guitar!! The detail is
painstaking, The photos that you took of it don't do it any justice. It is so much more amazing than that. I think one of the things I like
best is that the wear is logical, its believable. The tint of the neck... looks like a real vintage neck. I am having a hard time organizing my
thoughts, so bear with me. The body looks amazing, perfect wear in the perfect spots! Amazing! Now, above and beyond all the
amazing, authentic relicing, the damn guitar plays a thousand times better than it did when I first shipped it to you!  I actually had to
put it BACK in its case so I can get back to work!! I am amazed at the difference in the playability. Jay, I can't thank you enough - great
great job, just an amazing job. I am so happy and its all because of your talent."
